Like forerunners, the ’Dining Table’ and ’Side Table’ report of the new collection ’Covered Identity’ of Pascal Howe. In contrast to living beings, objects have no self-defined identity. The identity is given and interpreted from the outside without any reflection or examine experience. This was the inspiration for ’Covered Identity’. Shapes that you would never find in nature and colours that covers every texture. One identity is disappearing that another one can exist. A canvas emerges to tell a story of a stranger. It was a priority to design the shape with only using basic geometrical forms whilst following a strict geometrical principle. Besides the tabletop, every element is made of the same rectangular profile.
